idreamofmona
idreamofmona presents recent explorations by the eleven candidates in MA Fine Arts. Its title alludes to a number of journeys undertaken by the candidates, including a postgraduate symposium in Melbourne and a visit to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart Australia.
These journeys evoke the disorientating effects of travel on the body and mind, which, in its dislocated state, makes surprising connections between objects and ideas.
Spanning painting, sculpture, installation, video and photography, the works reveal the creative potential in these evolving processes and conditions. These conditions include the dream-like psychological state, which enables latent influences to surface in external expression.
Artists: John Clang, Hong Huazheng, Warren Khong, Terry Ong, Andrea O’Ryan, Homa Shojaie, Janka Szabad, Giada Tagliamonte, Alvin Tan, Jackson Tan, Ocean Wang Jue
